Shower installation
We paid around $50 per square foot for the unfinished basement with 9 foot ceilings. It is constructed with preformed Superior Walls. It is perfectly dry and has exceeded our expectations. It is so comfortable that we are going to finish a section into a wine/bourbon cellar.
10 foot ceilings are most definitely worth it!! I remember being pleasantly surprised about the cost. I think it was a couple thousand extra dollars, but soooooo much impact!! Now it happening again, except it's also... Do NOT use Linda Schumacher to rent your vacation home at Kismet. She might leave you a cute 'welcome package' but, she will make your summer miserable. She does not return phone calls for legitimate issues regarding your lease and the house and will become obsessed about insignificant details. He responded "NO" as "joking???" many times...Well, after 5 weeks waiting we did not recieve a price estimate yet, although emailed...
To pursue this any further would mean our remodel would just be drag out. I would like Schumacher homes to repair any water damage and install the proper backerboard so that we can continue with installing the shower walls. We purchased the Schumacher home three years ago.
Before hiring a contractor in North Carolina, be sure to get at least 3 detailed bids. Quality contractors will take the time to explain their budget proposal, and help guide you through the estimate process. Be wary of an abnormally low bid, they are not worth the risk.
We've dealt with mildew for some time now and suspect more damage as we continue to pull off the tiles. Clearly this was not the proper way of installing a tiled shower. If you want a custom home outside of their models, expect a nightmare. The design center has no design experts.
